Semester 1 Reflection:

    Looking back on my first semester of photography, I realize how many photographic skills I've achieved and been able to incorporate in photos I take on an everyday basis. This includes techniques such as the rule of thirds, contrasting colors, shallow depth of field, and countless others. My favorite project that I completed this year is project 4 because I really enjoyed taking the photos for and making the kaleidoscopes themselves. Because of photography, I am able to see beauty and life in abnormal or dull things, and when a taking photos, can capture a specific mood no matter the subject. I now have a new joy for photography as I like that I can express myself and my photographic style/aesthetic through capturing a moment in time of different items in any given setting. In second semester, I look forward to learning new techniques and methods of taking photos that will grow my perspective of the world.
