Alternative Process #2 - Cyanotypes

Explanation:
- Unlike photographs set in silver, like black and white photography, cyanotypes use a solution of iron compounds.
- Photographs can be taken with either a digital camera or the resulting photo turned into a negative that can be used to make a cyanotype.
- Sir John Herschel introduced the cyanotype recipe in 1842 and it hasn't changed since.
- Advances in the cyanotype process were made by Mike Ware, in which the formula has less bleed, shorter exposure times and a longer density range than Herschel's, but it is also slightly more complicated to mix and uses more toxic chemicals.
- The process begins with two prepared solutions for the two-part sensitizing process. The sensitized material with the solution is then printed by ultraviolet light.
